What To Know When Planning Your Trip

We ride rain or shine! A passing maritime shower or some classic coastal fog won’t stop the fun. We closely monitor the local radar and will only cancel rentals or tours if the forecast calls for unsafe conditions like sustained downpours, lightning, or extreme winds.
If we determine the weather is unsafe, we will contact you as early as possible to cancel the booking and offer a full reschedule. Because maritime weather changes quickly, we highly recommend purchasing our Booking Insurance at checkout. This ensures you can easily cancel your reservation for refund if the weather isn’t up to your personal comfort level, even if the trail is still safely open.

Yes we do! We can even plan special rides and tours for special group events. Get in touch today and we will be happy to design a custom event.
They are incredibly fun and a total game-changer, but we do have a few safety guidelines!
To ensure everyone has a safe and confident ride, our e-bike rentals are exclusively for riders aged 16 and older.
Beyond the age requirement, e-bikes are a fantastic fit for almost anyone who knows how to ride a traditional bicycle. They flatten out rolling hills and conquer head-on coastal winds, making longer distances feel totally effortless. They are the ultimate equalizer—allowing riders of different fitness levels to easily cruise together at the exact same pace.
A few things to keep in mind before you rent:
Bicycle Basics: Because our e-bikes provide a smooth, powerful boost, riders should already feel completely comfortable balancing, steering, and braking on a standard bicycle.
Weight & Handling: E-bikes are heavier than regular bikes due to the battery and motor, so they require a little extra focus when stopping, mounting, or turning.
If you can comfortably ride a regular bike, an e-bike will level up your coastal adventure and let you focus entirely on the views!
When you book your ride, you will see a detailed height and bike sizing guide directly on the selection page to help you pick the perfect fit.
We always want you to have a comfortable ride! If you accidentally select the wrong size during booking, we will do absolutely everything we can when you arrive to swap you onto a frame that fits you better.
Please note a quick exception: Our fleet size is limited. If a smaller rider intentionally books a Large frame simply because the Small frames are already sold out for that time slot, we cannot guarantee a swap. If the correct size is already booked by another customer, we won’t be able to adjust it. To ensure the safest and most comfortable experience, we highly recommend booking early to secure your correct size!
Coastal weather changes fast, so layers are key! It’s often cooler right by the water than inland.
👟 What to Wear
Close-Toed Shoes: Sneakers or athletic shoes are required for safety (no flip-flops).
Comfortable Layers: Leggings, shorts, or athletic pants (avoid wide legs that can catch in the chain).
Light Jacket/Windbreaker: Essential for the ocean breeze.
Sunglasses: Protects against water glare and wind.
🎒 What to Pack
Water & Snacks: To stay fueled on the trail. (Note: If you forget yours, we sell trail snacks and water bottles at the shop that fit perfectly into your bike’s bottle cages!)
Swimsuit & Towel: If you plan to stop for a dip.
Sunscreen: Essential for open, unshaded trails.

We have dedicated guest parking directly at our Seaforth hub. When you arrive, you will see clear signage directing you where to park your vehicle safely so you can head to get fitted for your gear!
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. This gives us plenty of buffer to check your waivers, fit your helmet, adjust your bike frame seat height, and help you load up your Ride with GPS routes so you get every single minute of your rented trail time.
Yes, as long as we have the inventory available! If you need to add a bike, switch an adult frame for a child-friendly setup, or adjust your start time. Email us or call the shop with your confirmation number. The earlier you let us know, the easier it is for us to guarantee the changes.
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Every rental comes equipped with a quick-fix tire sealant. If you run over a sharp twig or small thorn and notice your tire losing air, just hook up the sealant canister to the valve to pump in the goo. It automatically seals the puncture and inflates the tire so you can safely ride right back to the hub.
If you experience a major tire issue that the sealant can’t fix, just give us a call at the shop and we will coordinate getting you back on track!
Your safety and experience are our top priorities! Here is our step-by-step game plan for a smooth ride:
1. Before You Leave the Hub Prevention is key! We thoroughly inspect every bike before it goes out, but we always ask that you do a quick check and ensure everything feels perfectly set and comfortable for you before departing the hub.
2. Give Us a Call First If you experience any mechanical quirks or unreparable flat tires while on the trail, always give us a call at the shop right away. Many minor issues can easily be troubleshot over the phone to get you rolling again in minutes.
3. If It’s a Major Malfunction If the bike has a significant technical issue that cannot be fixed on the trail, we will do everything we can to come out to your location and swap your bike for a fresh one so you can finish your adventure.
4. A Quick Note on Rider Responsibility If a roadside rescue or bike swap is required due to a manufacturer issue or normal equipment wear, there is absolutely no charge. However, if the issue or damage is due to rider error (such as a crash, reckless riding, or using the bike incorrectly), a $50 recuperation fee will apply to cover the cost of the field rescue, plus the cost of any broken parts.
Yes, it is 100% free for you!
We hold a professional company account with Ride with GPS, which means you get access to all of our premium navigation features without paying a cent. You will receive a special link at booking that unlocks our entire private library of curated local routes.
📱 How It Works:
Download the App: Before your ride, download the free Ride with GPS app on your smartphone (available for iOS and Android). No paid subscription or upgrade is needed.
Load Our Routes: Click our exclusive route link to instantly load our custom-designed loops, trail maps, and day trips right onto your phone.
Turn-by-Turn Voice Navigation: Once you hit the trail, the app provides real-time voice guidance and visual cues—just like GPS in a car. You can slip your phone right into your complimentary trunk bag and just listen for your next turn.
Works Offline: Best of all, you can download your route while connected to our shop Wi-Fi before you leave. This ensures your navigation and maps will work perfectly on the coast, even if you lose cell service.
It is the easiest, stress-free way to explore the absolute best hidden gems, scenic lookouts, and local stops along the Eastern Shore at your own pace!
Mostly, yes! Cell service is generally quite good along the main rail trails and roads on the Eastern Shore. However, there are a few local “dead zones” tucked into the thicker forested valley stretches or remote coastlines. That is why we highly recommend downloading your Ride with GPS route to your phone while connected to our shop Wi-Fi before you head out—that way, your navigation works perfectly even with zero cell service!
Yes, but they are spaced out. There are public washrooms and pit toilets located at major trailheads and parks, including Three Fathom Harbour, Lawrencetown Beach and Porters Lake Provincial Park. If you are doing a longer day trip, we recommend checking your Ride with GPS route map, where we’ve pinned the exact locations of public restrooms.
As a local, independent business, your word-of-mouth means everything to us! The absolute best ways to support us are leaving a review on Google, or tagging @SaltAirCycle in your photos on Instagram and Facebook. We love seeing your trail adventures!
We plan our maintenance, charging schedules, and upcoming bookings tightly around our reservation windows. If you realize you’re tracking behind schedule and won’t make your return time, please call the shop immediately. Late returns without notice are subject to a late fee because they can directly impact the next guest waiting for that bike
Yes, but it must be pre-arranged with our staff before you head out! If you want to stay out past closing time, we can set up an after-hours return for you under the following conditions:
Lock the Bikes: You must securely lock the bikes to the dedicated bike racks at the hub using the provided lock.
Before Sunset: All bikes must be returned and locked before sunset.
Photo Confirmation: Once the bikes are safely locked, you must take a clear photo of the bikes in the rack and text it to the shop number to confirm your return and verify they are undamaged.
Damage Review: Just like any standard rental, our staff will thoroughly inspect the equipment the following morning. If any new damage or issues are noted from your ride, the renter will be responsible for covering the repair costs.
Not for regular trail use! We expect the bikes to get a little dusty or splash through ordinary puddles—that is all part of a great day out on the trailway. We handle all the standard cleaning, chain lubing, and sanitizing between rentals at no extra cost.
Please note: Our bikes are strictly meant for designated trails and paved roads. We do charge a deep cleaning fee if bikes are ridden off-road, through deep mud, or in the sand (as salt water and beach sand cause instant, severe damage to the bike’s drivetrain and electric components). Stay on the paths, and you’re good to go!
